www.ogc.gov.uk - The Office of Government Commerce is an independent office of the HM Treasury and works with public sector organisations to help them improve their efficiency, gain better value for money from their commercial activities and deliver improved success from programmes and projects. The site contains useful information, guidance and toolkits on the role of Senior Responsible Owners of IT projects, Government procurement, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), the Gateway Review process and the Government's efficiency programme.

www.nao.org.uk - The National Audit Office scrutinizes spending on behalf of Parliament. It is independent of Government. They audit the accounts of all government departments and agencies, as well as a wide range of public bodies, and report to Parliaments on the economy, efficiency and effectiveness with which they have used public money. The web site contains a number of reports of NAO's
investigations into Government IT and Public Finance Initiative projects.

public body responsible for ensuring that public money is spent
economically, efficiently, and effectively in the areas of local government,
housing, health, criminal justice and fire and rescue services.

www.idea-knowledge.gov.uk - The Improvement and Development Agency works on innovation in Local Government. IDeA Knowledge provides in-depth improvement news and examples of good practice from councils across England and Wales, and provides access to the IDeA's range of tools and services.

www.govtalk.gov.uk - GovTalk sets the standards for seamless
electronic Government. The purpose of this site is to enable the public
sector, Industry and other interested parties to work together in developing
and agreeing policies and standards for e-government.

www.businesslink.gov.uk - Business Link is the government's website for any small business owner to start a search for information or support on issues such as tax, IT, finance and employment regulations.

www.info4local.gov.uk - Info4local Government provides the first, online, one-stop gateway for local authorities to get quick and easy access to local government-related information that is published on the web sites of central government departments and agencies.

www.planningportal.gov.uk - The Planning Portal is the UK government's online planning and building regulations service. It can be used to learn about planning and building regulations, apply for planning permission and building regulations consent, find out about development near you, appeal against a decision and research government policy. It is a good example of a joined up local and central
government service designed to meet the need of customers.
